Bangor City Scout Lewer joins Southport as manager 

Bangor City’s Alan Lewer has left Nantporth and taken the role as First Team Manager of Southport. 

Lewer who was appointed in an apparent scouting role at the club back in 2016 has replaced former Welsh Premier League manager Andy Preece who was manager of Airbus UK last season before leaving before the start of the season. 

Speaking to the official Southport website, Lewer said of his delight in joining Southport.

“I’m delighted to be joining up with Mark to become Southport Football Club’s First-team Manager.”

Joining Lewer at Southport will be former Rhyl player John Durnin who joins the coaching staff as First Team Coach. 

Southport were relegated from the Vanarama National League last season.
