Thierry Henry pays credit to Welsh Cup winning boss Caton

Arsenal legend and Sky pundit Thierry Henry has praised Bala Town’s Colin Caton for their Welsh Cup win this season.

He’s most well known for his glittering career as a player where he won a World Cup, a European Championship, a Champions League, two La Liga titles and 2 Premier League titles but Thierry Henry has been paying attention to how the Welsh game has been playing out this season.

Bala beat The New Saints for the first time in their history back in April, ending a baron 30 game run without a win against TNS and Henry praised the ability to bounce back from that.

“It doesn’t matter where you are coaching, what type you have, you always have to go through adversity. Finally they got their little opportunity and they showed their resilience.”

Speaking to Welsh football broadcaster Sgorio whilst at an FAW Coaches Conference, the all-time Arsenal record goal scorer watched back the Welsh Cup final victory and mentioned how Caton lifted the players after a dominant season from the Champions TNS.

“It’s almost known here that before the league starts you know TNS are going to win.  How do you pick yourself up every year to see if you can do it? How you pick your players up to try and do it.”

“I’m sure people thought they weren’t going to beat them in the final but they did, it shows his(Caton’s) resilience.”

Henry is on the same course as Caton as they look for the next qualification in their coaching career and the 46 year-says the English Premier League winner has been helpful on the course.

“Thierry is an absolute pleasure to work with, the information that he gives you, the time that he gives you, he comes and sits with us at dinner. Everyone on the course is such a gentleman.”

Caton finished on the note that how the course has helped him in coaching and how it has helped elevate himself and Bala Town.

“Without the coaching education that I’ve been on I don’t think I would be where I am and Bala Town certainly wouldn’t be where they ae unles they brought in as educated as what I’ve become on this course.”
