Gresford secure Guilsfield front-man as duo commit at Clappers Lane

Gresford Athletic have recruited Guilsfield forward Aaron Edwards as well as Welsh Alliance League full-back Adam Davies from Penycae alongside Dave MacIntyre and Owen Roberts’ decision to stay.

Davies is the second summer signing following the signing of Porthmadog front-man Joe Williams, who had previously played for Wrexham, Bangor City and the Cefn Druids.

The 20 year-old joins third played Gresford after spells at Wrexham, TNS, Cefn Druids and Penycae. He had been tracked by the club for sometime and the club are proud that he has signed forms with them.

The Gresford manager mentioned that he had spoken to many managers in the Welsh Alliance League on who they rated as the best left-back in the league, where he played in for Penycae.

“I’m very pleased to get Adam. I’ve been speaking to managers from the Welsh National League and his name kept coming up as the best left back in that league.

He’s obviously got quality looking at the clubs he’s been at. He’s young and hungry to start which is very pleasing for me and can’t wait to get back into the season and go again.”

Davies could see a familiar face in Dave MacInyre, who was at the Cefn Druids at the same time as the Scot.
MacIntyre joined the club last summer, having had a spell with Scottish side Gretna, before moving to North Wales.

Playing alongside new-signing Adam Davies will be long-term player Owen Roberts, who will be in his 13th season at the club. A number of clubs were interested in signing the forward but Roberts has chose to commit to Steve Halliwell’s men.
