Airbus UK record-breaker Gray seals return to England

Veteran striker Tony Gray has left recently-relegated Airbus UK Broughton to join Northern Premier League side Warrington Town.

Gray, who broke the club’s scoring record with 18 goals in his first season, signs for the Evo-Stik Norther Premier League side after just two seasons at the Airfield.

The 33-year-old joined Airbus in 2015, eventually going on to score 28 goals in 53 Welsh Premier League appearances for the club.

He had previously enjoyed successful spells in the Football Conference with Southport, Droylsden, Chester and Telford, scoring 56 goals for the latter in 133 appearances.

He first appeared in the Welsh Premier League in 2004 when he joined Bangor City, but he has now decided to cross the border once more.

However, Airbus, who are still coming to terms with their relegation from the Welsh Premier League, will not have to wait long for a reunion, as they are due to face Warrington in a pre-season friendly on August 5.

They will then begin life in the Huws Gray Alliance a week later, with Llandudno Junction the visitors on August 12.
