Barry Town United have today announced the appointment of Richard Williams as first team coach.
Williams, who is currently working towards his UEFA Pro Licence, will assist manager Gavin Chesterfield with first team coaching duties as the club looks to maintain its Welsh Premier League status having been promoted from the Welsh Football League one last season.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Chesterfield said:
“I’m delighted to bring ‘Richy’ to the club. He’s someone I’ve worked closely with in recent years and he brings real quality and much experience.
“Ahead of next season, it’s an area that I feel we needed to strengthen, but it needed to be the right person. Richy’s qualities both as a coach and as a person ensure that he is a great fit for our club”.
Williams is the latest recruit of Barry Town’s pre season, with Elliot Scotcher, Clayton Green and Kayne Mclaggon all signing on to play at Jenner Park for the 2017/18 season.
Revered manager Chesterfield has also reaffirmed his commitment to the club by signing a new two year contract.
