Does Quigley’s performances in Europe prove he’s the best striker in the Welsh Premier League?

Scott Quigley starred as The New Saints advanced into the next round of Champions League qualification, but is he the best striker in the Welsh Premier League?

The 24 year-old scored twice as The New Saints overcame a 2-1 first leg deficit to advance to the next round of Champions League qualification, where they will play the Croatian champions HNK Rijeka.

Quigley has been with The New Saints since the 2012/2013 season and has gone from strength to strength at the Oswestry based outfit.

During the 2o16/2017 season Quigley scored a total of eight times in 18 appearances, including an impressive hat-trick against Bala Town in a thrilling 6-4 win for The New Saints, however its the performances over the last two games which have really caught the eye – scoring three times in two games against Europa to help The New Saints into the next round of qualification.

And Quigley will be hoping he can carry his form over to the Welsh Premier League season, where The New Saints kick-off their defence of the title with a trip to Bangor City.

With Newtown’s prolific striker Jason Oswell now playing the English pyramid, it is a fantastic opportunity for the forward to prove himself as the Welsh Premier League’s best striker, and if he can replicate the form which he has shown over the last two games in Europe, there will be little doubts to whether he can become the most prized striker in the Welsh Premier League during the 2017/2018 season.
