Llandudno have secured the signature of promising attacker Sam Ilesanmi from Tranmere Rovers, subject to international clearance.
The centre-forward who has played 63 minutes of football in the Vanarama National League, scored in his only league appearance for Tranmere.
Ilesanmi made an unofficial debut for Llandudno on Tuesday night during a 2-0 victory against Colwyn Bay in which he got on the scoresheet.
He signed for the National League’s Tranmere Rovers in July 2016, making one appearance for the first team in a 1-0 away victory over Maidstone on the final day of the 16/17 season.
Back in 2012, Ilesanmi featured in a piece with the Liverpool Echo where his goal scoring record at a young age was highlighted. His main attribute according to the article is his pace and has trained for both 100m and 200m sprints.
Manager Alan Morgan will no doubt look to Ilesanmi as an attacking edge in his side, who finished seventh in the Welsh Premier League last season averaging less than a goal per game.
Ilesanmi joins Toby Jones and Ryan Edwards as Llandudno’s three new signings so far this summer. Prolific forward Marc Williams has also committed to the Giant Hospitality stadium with a one year contract extension.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Morgan confirmed he has been a admirer of Ilesanmi for the past year.
“I’ve had an eye on Sam from working at Tranmere last season, I was trying to get him on loan but to get him permanently this year is a really good acquisition for us.
“Sam played for us last night at Colwyn Bay and he showed by taking his goal really well that he’s keen, and from what we’ve witnessed so far there’s plenty more goals to come from him.”
Llandudno begin their season with a home fixture against Carmarthen Town on 12 August.
