Bangor secure signature of Spanish forward

Bangor City FC have today announced the signing of relatively unknown Spaniard Anderson Cayola.

Cayola, an attacking player who hails from Barcelona, joined Bangor after catching the eye of Bangor boss Kevin Nicholson during UK tour games for the Learning Soccer Academy (LSA).

Nicholson scouted the 20 year old during his games in the UK which involved Liverpool FC, Airbus UK Broughton and Welsh Premier rivals Connah’s Quay Nomads.

The player was placed on a trial and impressed during friendlies against the likes of Skelmersdale United with performances the club has hailed as ‘consistently strong’.

Cayola has agreed a professional contract with Bangor in a deal that sees the club’s full time ambitions moving forward.

He joins the Citizens after most recently playing for Spanish lower league side CE Artesa De Segre, and will wear the number 31 for the duration of the Welsh Premier League 2017/18.

Speaking to the Bangor City website, manager Kevin Nicholson said:

“Anderson is an exciting prospect and another good signing for the club. His addition will further strengthen the squad and we look forward to working with him.”

Assistant manager Gary Taylor-Fletcher also praised his side’s latest signing:

“He is a player who is unknown to the league and a great addition to the squad. Technically gifted with great vision and speed, we’re really looking forward to seeing him develop as the season goes on.”

Bangor’s latest signing comes as the Citizens prepare for a blockbuster opening day fixture against The New Saints at Nantporth.
