Bulldogs welcome back former Player of the Year Jacka 

Division One side Ton Pentre have re-signed their go to man Leon Jacka from Rhondda rivals Cambrian & Clydach BGC.

Jacks who left Ynys Park to Cambrian back February has returned to Ton Pentre and has already donned the colours of his old club in a pre-season friendly against AFC Llwydcoed.

He left the club with ten goals to his name for Ton Pentre last season and actually came up against the Bull Dogs last season following his move in a 0-0 draw.

Speaking to the clubs official website, Jacka explained how he was delighted to be returning to the club, with a sense of optimism around the new season.

“It’s fantastic to be back with the Bulldogs, I’m really excites to get going again at Ynys Park and I can’t wait for the new season to start.”

Playing alongside Jacka next season will be Phil Clarke, Thomas Davies, James Drury, Andre Griffiths, Kurt Hodges, Adam Lewis, Gavin Morris, Sam Small and Matthew Smith as they were named on the clubs retained list by manager Lee Phillips.

“It was important that we retained key members of last season’s squad and we will add several new faces to strengthen Ton Pentre further ahead of the new season.

“With Welsh League Division One set to be another season if incredibly competitive football, it was jet ro keep the core of the squad that will go into the new season.”

They will all be joined by Steve Williams who is assistant-manager to manager Lee Phillips has put himself forward to both a coaching and playing role for next season as the former Merthyr captain slots in a defensive role.

“Having returned to the Club, I really enjoyed it here at Ynys Park assisting Lee Phillips, I’m looking forward to working closely with the squad we’re assembling ready for the new season and challenges ahead.”

Ton Pentre will continue their pre-season schedule as they host Divison Three side Treharris Athletic Western on Tuesday the 25th July.
