Rhyl confirm double signing as McGuiness finalises squad for new season
Rhyl FC have confirmed the double signing of Jack Hoult and Stewart Carroll, as Nial McGuiness finalises his squad ahead of the club’s return to the Huws Gray Alliance.
Both Hoult and Carroll had been on trial at the North Wales outfit during pre-season and had clearly done enough to impress the manager to earn their place in the squad for the coming season.
Hoult fits the mould of numerous McGuiness signings as the young, local lad joins the club from Vale of Clwyd and Conwy Premier division side Abergele Town, where he finished the season as their top goal scorer.
The young forward has already featured for the Lilywhites in pre-season, having featured for both the first team and reserve team, notching five goals in the process.
Hoult, 21 is thought to have potential to kick on and McGuiness has already expressed his excitement at working with the player.
“I’m looking forward to working with him to help him develop as a player, he has bags of potential at the age of 21 and Jack has a great eye for goal which he’s shown in pre-season scoring 3 goals for the 1st team and 2 for the reserves.”
He’s joined at the club by fellow signing Carroll. The midfielder joins Rhyl after an eight year stint at Flint Town United.
The player joined the club from Castrol Social of the West Cheshire League, having previously played for Vauxhall FC. With plenty of experience in the second tier of Welsh football, Carroll will add some experience to what is a relatively young squad at Belle Vue but with a blend of experience with the signings of Connolly, Brewerton and Rowlands.
Carroll himself commented on signing for the Lilywhites on social media, praising the stature of the club as he begins life at Belle Vue.
