Airbus UK strengthen with signings of Fosu-Mensah and Song
Airbus UK have continued their push for promotion to the Welsh Premier League with the signings of Ronny Song and Alfons Fosu-Mensah.
Both players join a talented Wingmakers squad with a blend of experience and youth, following the signings of Mark Jones and John Davies in the earlier parts of the summer.
The two both have connections in the footballing world with Alfons’ brother being Manchester United and Netherlands U21 defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah, whilst Ronny Song is the son of former Cameroon international Rigobert Song who played for West Ham and Liverpool in his playing days.
Ronny, like his father Rigobert, began his career at French side FC Metz before moving to England to join English Premier League side Everton as an apprentice.
As well as playing for Everton, Song has had experience with Southport’s U21 side before making the move to Football League side Morecambe earlier this year.
Alfons, unlike his brother Timothy is a central forward and began his professional career with second tier Dutch side FC Oss before making a move to English football with sides like Southport, Skelmersdale, North Ferriby United, Hednesford Town and most recently Marine, where he scored two goals in nine appearances.
The 23 year-old has already played in North Wales, having played for Conwy based side Colwyn Bay in the Northern Premier League Premier Division two seasons ago.
The club have also signed 19 year-old forward Luke Busumbru who has played competitive football for Gibraltarian side Bruno’s Magpies. Busumbru can also operate as a winger on both the left and right-hand sides.
All three players could be in contention to make their competitive debuts this coming Saturday as competition for a first team spot hots up, with Thomas having many options to choose from.
Airbus UK Broughton begin the season with a home match at the Airfield against Cymru Alliance new boys Llandudno Junction.
