Welsh Premier League Champions, The New Saints have completed the loan signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers and Wales U19 centre-back Ryan Leak.
The 19 year-old has played a majority of his football at youth level and played twice this season in the U23 Premier League 2 for Wolverhampton Wanderers, as he helped them get to the play-offs in the previous season.
The club will have to await for international clearance to be rubber stamped but it is likely that once everything has been finalized, he will go straight in to the match day squad of The New Saints.
Leak qualifies for Wales through his family roots, after being born in Stoke-on-Trent and brought up in Chasetown and will remain at Park Hall up until January.
Steve Saunders recently picked up an injury in their game against Bala Town and Scott Ruscoe has worked quickly to provide cover.
Speaking to TNS.co.uk, manager Scott Ruscoe was delighted to snap-up the young defender and has high hopes for the clubs newest recruit.
“I’m really pleased to have signed him on loan until the January window. He is a good left-footed player and we’re looking to get him involved as soon as possible.”
“Having spoken to Scott Sellars (Wolves U23 manager) early on in the transfer window, I watched him play and enquired regarding a loan deal”
“Obviously with Steve Saunders picking up an injury that made it more of a concern for us, needing to bring players in for that area, and with Callum (Roberts) and now Ryan we have done so.
