Aberdare Town’s Matt Driscoll has left his role as First Team Manager following Saturday’s Derby day defeat to AFC Llwydcoed.
The club are currently win-less in the division and sit just two points above bottom side AFC Porth. Aberdare were also knocked out of the Welsh Cup last week after suffering a defeat on penalties to Ammanford.
Driscoll took over from AFC Llwydcoed manager Lee Williams back in January of last year and guided the club to a seventh placed finish last season after building on from the disappointment of relegation from Division One in the previous season.
The player-turned manager took to social media to explain his decision on why he was departing the club and was has shown grace in thanking the club for the opportunity, leaving on good terms.
I’d like to thank everyone involved with @AberdareTown for the last two years . Time for me to recharge the batteries. Great club and people
