TNS duo extend deals to remain at Park Hall
JD Welsh Premier League champions have extended the deals of striker Dean Ebbe and midfielder Aeron Edwards, as Scott Ruscoe attempts to forge a strong squad ahead of next season.
Edwards and Ebbe have been mainstays in the squad as of late, helping the Welsh outfit to retain the top flight title for the seventh consecutive season.
Ebbe is a recent signing at Park Hall, but has clearly done enough to impress for the Welsh side to retain his services for the 2018/19 season. The Irish forward joined TNS from Inverness Caledonian Thistle in January, and has settled into his new home fairly quickly, having found the back of the net five times already since joining.
His manager Scott Ruscoe is delighted that the forward has put pen to paper on a new deal to remain at the club.
“He’s scored goals, he’s put in good performances. He mixes well with the rest of the players, he’s a likeable lad; he works hard and wants to do well. Why wouldn’t we want to give him a new contract?”
His team-mate Edwards, however, has been at the Oswestry based club for a number of years. The midfield enforcer joined the side from Caersws back in 2009, after having spent his formative years with Buckley Town. But, since joining TNS the player has become a central figure to plans at Park Hall, and has won every title possible with the Saints.
He mixes well with the rest of the players
“I know he’s only extending his contract but it’s a great capture. He’s been with us for several years now and I played with him as a player. He seems to be getting better with age and he trains well.
“He’s put in some great performances this season, his goal return is good and he continues to consistently perform for us.”
Ruscoe has had an excellent start to his managerial career, having picked up the top flight title in his maiden season with over a month to spare and is already setting about making additions to his squad to establish a strong side ahead of the coming season.
We’ve got a few boys coming in during the next few weeks and we’ve got a behind-closed-doors friendly planned where we can look at some of our trialists”, he told the TNS website.
“We’ve got four or five that we’re looking at, hopefully we can get some of those over the line ready for June 4 when we return to pre-season training.”
