LIVE: Cardiff Metropolitan University vs. Barry Town United

Cardiff Metropolitan University meet local rivals Barry Town United in the JD Welsh Premier League play-off semi final for the last Europa League qualifying spot. The sides have met on three occasions so far this season, with the Students edging the head-to-head with two wins to Barry’s one.

After 32 regular season games, the Archers and the Linnets have the opportunity to advance to the play-off final, where the winner secures their place in the preliminary rounds of next season’s UEFA Europa League.

Christian Edwards’ men reached the playoff final last season, where they were narrowly defeated 1-0 by Bangor City in Nantporth.

For Town, reaching this stage has confirmed an encouraging return to the top flight, following their promotion from the Welsh Football League Division One last season.

Both sides will be able to call on two of the league’s best marksmen: Eliot Evans (14 goals) and Kayne McLaggon (12 goals) have been in fine form for their respective teams this term.

The winner of today’s semi-final will play Huw Griffiths’ Cefn Druids at The Rock on Sunday 20 May (12:25) live on S4C.
