Davies returns for third spell with Citizens after departing Lakesiders
Bangor City have today confirmed that striker Les Davies is to return for a third spell at the club, following his departure from Bala Town.
The announcement of the return of Davies, who is a former nominee for FIFA World Player of the Year, comes on the day that the Citizens unveiled former TNS boss Craig Harrison as their new manager.
In his previous two spells with the club, the 33-year-old played a total of 275 games, scoring 88 times.
In a press conference this afternoon, Davies was described as “a club legend“.
His previous clubs include: Caernarfon Town, Porthmadog, the Connah’s Quay Nomads and most recently Bala Town.
New manager Harrison said that Davies is “hard to play against, and is Bangor through and through.”
The Bangor-born forward has represented Wales at U18, U21 and U23 level.
Davies will be playing in the Cymru Alliance next season, following Bangor’s relegation from the Welsh Premier League.
Harrison explained why the frontman has returned to the Nantporth side: “He’s come back to do a specific job, to score goals.”
The former Hartlepool United manager concluded by saying: “He’s the best target man out there, and certainly is in the league below (Cymru Alliance).”
