RECAP: Pontypridd Town AFC v Ammanford AFC – Welsh Football League Division Two

Pontypridd Town and Ammanford meet for the second time in four days, with promotion on the line for Ammanford. The hosts secured promotion from the Welsh Football League Division Two by beating Ammanford 3-1 on Saturday. The Boards can join them in Division One if they draw this evening.

The Dragons confirmed their place in Division Two after fighting back from a goal down at the break, to beat their promotion rivals at the Recreational Ground. Ponty’s victory at Ammanford meant that Ammanford had suffered their first defeat in thirteen games. Ammanford now need a point from their final two games to join both Llantwit Major and Pontypridd Town.

Llantwit Major’s 5-2 victory over third-placed STM Sports secured the league title for them, with the highest possible finish second and the lowest possible finish, third. Ammanford can be promoted tonight with a draw at the USW Sport Park, but do also have a trip to Aberbargoed Buds on Saturday if they are unsuccessful this evening.
