RECAP: Trefelin BGC v Llanelli Town – Welsh Cup Final

Llanelli Town and Trefelin Boys & Girls Club meet in the final of the Welsh Football League Cup at Stafford Common this evening.

Andy Hill’s side are in the final for a second year, after winning the Cup last year at Old Road. Richie Ryan’s men are in the final for the first time under his leadership after he took over last summer. Both Hill and Ryan spent time together at Goytre United, where the Reds boss previously managed.

Both sides were involved in promotion battles in their respective leagues this season. Trefelin narrowly missed out on promotion after Bridgend Street pipped them to the final promotion spot yesterday. Llanelli Town won the Division One title with a fifteen point gap over nearest placed Haverfordwest County.
