Nomads announce signings of Parker and Edwards while Hughes pens new deal

The Connah’s Quay Nomads have announced the signings of Michael Parker and Noah Edwards, who have both joined from Prestatyn Town. They have also confirmed that midfielder Rob Hughes has signed a new one year deal.

Parker, 30, brings to and end a 13-year association with his home-town club.

Speaking to ptfconline.co.ukthe midfielder said: “Very sad to be leaving my home-town club, but will kook forward to new challenges ahead.

Thank you Prestatyn and for everyone’s continued support.

Parker arrived at Bastion Road in 2008, and would go on to make over 200 appearances for the Seasiders in the Welsh Premier League.

Morrison made clear his excitement at the arrival of the former Wrexham youth player: “I’ve been a big admirer of Michael for many seasons – his experience and quality will certainly add to our squad.”

21-year-old Edwards joins the team which his brother, Kai, left last week to link up with Llandudno.

Commenting on the arrival of Edwards, who can play in defence or midfield, manager Andy Morrison said: “I believe Noah has the talent and the mentality to play at a much higher level and we look forward to continuing his development.”

The Nomads finished third in last season’s JD Welsh Premier League, 17 points adrift of winners The New Saints.

The Deeside club have also confirmed that Rob Hughes has put pen to paper on a new one year deal.

The 25-year-old joined the Nomads in January from Australian side Goulbourn Valley Suns.

The midfielder has also featured for Rhyl and Prestatyn Town.

Morrison is pleased that Hughes has agreed to stay: “I’m delighted that Rob has decided to sign for another year – he has done well since joining us in January.

He can see how we do things right and wants to be a part of Connah’s Quay Nomads going forwards, even though he had some lucrative offers on the table from other Welsh Premier League sides.”
