Llanelli Town have re-signed goalkeeper Scott Coughlan and brought forward Mark Jones into the club, as eight others commit their future to the Reds.

Coughlan departed the club mid-season as he joined Swedish side GIF Sundsval, before returning to West Wales whilst Jones is a likely replacement for the departing Lee Trundle who has joined Llanelli’s promotion rivals from last season, Haverfordwest County.

The young shot-stopper had previously played for Cardiff City and Hull City’s developmental sides, before going on trial with Aberystwyth Town and Carmarthen Town last season.

Mark Jones, 29, spent half of the season with Welsh League side Afan Lido, where he scored 21 goals before moving to Carmarthen Town at the end of January. He also was called up to the Wales semi-professional team, where he scored in Wales’ 3-2 defeat to England.

Captain Joe Clark spearheads the list of those to stay. He is joined by Liam Samuel, Lee Bevan, Kurtis March, Anthony Finselbach, Jordan Davies, Ross Jones and James Loveridge, who will be playing Welsh Premier League football at Steboneath Park next season.

James Loveridge and Kurtis March have already played in the top flight of Welsh football. Loveridge and March both played for Port Talbot, as well as March spending some time with Aberystwyth Town.

In total, March made 56 appearances in the Welsh top flight before moving to then Division Two Llanelli Town, scoring three goals.

The Reds are expected to make further signings over the course of this weekend and into next week.
