The New Saints have unveiled Irishman Kurtis Byrne as the latest arrival to Park Hall this summer. The forward joins the club from Linfield, who finished fourth in last season’s Northern Ireland Football League Premiership.
The 28-year-old began his career with Norwich City in the 2006/07 season, before leaving to join Hibernian where he would spend two years with the youth team.
His first professional appearance would come for Hibernian in 2009, in a Scottish League Cup game against Brechin City.
Byrne is the seventh player to join the Welsh Premier League champions in this summer’s transfer window, as manager Scott Ruscoe looks to improve his squad for next season.
The striker won back-to-back League of Ireland titles with Dundalk in the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
He has featured over 100 times in Ireland’s top division, having also played for Bohemians and St Patrick’s Athletic.
Other clubs Byrne has featured for include: Stirling Albion, East Fife, Alloa Athletic and Brechin City.
Byrne’s other honours include FAI Cup and League of Ireland Cup successes in the 2015 and 2014 seasons respectively.
The club today announced that this is likely to be the final incoming in this summer’s transfer window.
At 9.00 p.m. today we will be announcing our latest signing. Although you can never say never in the world of football, it will be the final piece in Scott Ruscoe’s transfer jigsaw, as we look ahead to the new season.
