Cefn Druids have added Bangor City striker Dean Rittenberg to their front-line, having previously been on trial.

He was nominated for Welsh Premier League Young Player of the Year last season but lost out to Tom Holland. Rittenberg did win Bangor City’s Young Player of the Year, however.

Rittenberg was on the scoresheet for Huw Griffiths’ men in their 4-1 win over local rivals Cefn Albion, at The Rock. He left Bangor City following their demotion to the Cymru Alliance last season.

The 22-year-old joins the Druids, having spent a season and a half with Bangor City. He made 33 appearances, scoring eleven goals for the Citizens in the league.

He was the sole scorer as Bangor City beat Cardiff Metropolitan University 1-0 in the 2016/2017 Europa League play-off final. He played in the Citizens Europa League fixtures last season.

Rittenberg was previously on the books at Blackburn Rovers, where he made an appearance in the Checkatrade Trophy.

A majority of his football came in the Premier League 2 Division, scoring five times and assisting twice in 45 appearances for Rovers. Rittenberg is a former England Under-18s international. He also had a spell with National League North side Chorley.

The Ancients play Cardiff Metropolitan University at The Rock this Saturday, before their televised season-opener with Caernarfon Town a week Sunday.
