Experienced Welsh Premier League striker Ashley Ruane has joined Neville Powell’s Aberystwyth Town.
The 33-year-old began the season with Colwyn Bay after leaving Europa League play-off winners Cefn Druids.
Ruane scored twice in Bay’s 4-2 victory over Atherton Colleries, with his last appearance coming on Monday, in a 2-2 draw with Prescot Cables.
Former Llandudno manager, now Bay manager Alun Morgan wanted Ruane to remain at the Red Lion Foods Stadium.
“It’s up to Ash now to make his mind up what he wants to do, but obviously I want him to stay because he has done well for me so far,” said Morgan to North Wales Pioneer.
The former Druids front-man has had previous experience for Connah’s Quay Nomads and Rhyl, before his last spell at The Rock.
He had been involved with the league from 2015, joining Rhyl on loan from Warrington. He then joined Cefn Druids, before making a permanent move to Huw Griffiths’ side.
Ruane has scored 33 goals in over 100 appearances in the Welsh Premier League.
He has experience in playing in the UEFA Europa League for the Connah’s Quay Nomads, when they beat Stabaek over two legs.
He also was part of the Warrington squad that beat Exeter City in the 2014 FA Cup.
Aberystwyth already have former Stalybridge Celtic striker Porya Ahmadi at the club, after dealing with the departure of John Owen to Llandudno.
He is eligible to make his competitive debut on Friday evening when The Green & Blacks host new boys Llanelli Town at Park Avenue.
