Newtown have re-signed forward Jamie Reed, as well as adding defender Tom Rose to the squad.

Reed joins the Robins having spent the summer out recovering from injury.

Rose had been training with Chris Hughes’ side and has since put pen to paper with the Mid Wales club.

The 20-year-old defender didn’t make a first-team appearance for the Millers, before being released by the Yorkshire club last year.

He did though play on loan for Vanarama National League North side Worcester City, as well as Stocksbridge Park Steels and Sheffield FC. Last season he played for Sutton Coldfield.

Rose was previously on the books of Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Jamie Reed made 24 appearances for the Robins last season, scoring eight goals. He joined the Latham Park club after a short spell at Llandudno.

The 31-year-old has Football League experience with Wrexham and York City. Reed also had two spells in Australia with Dandenog Thunder and South Melbourne.

He is a three-time Welsh Premier League winner and has won the Welsh Cup on two occasions.

Reed joins the attacking line of Ethan Jones, Joe Kenton, Luke Boundford, Neil Rushton and Nick Rushton and Sam Phillips.

The pair could be included in the squad for Saturday’s game at Carmarthen Town.

Both sides secured victories last weekend over Bala Town and Cardiff Metropolitan University respectively.
