There were three surviving games from Mid Wales Division One after storm Callum. The excitement this weekend as Caersws’ unbeaten run came to an end.
But, with four games surviving the elements, there was plenty of action to discuss.
Mid Wales Division One
Postponed – Aberaeron vs Kerry, Bow Street vs Carno, Llandrindod vs Berriew and Radnor Valley vs Builth Wells
Caersws 0-2 Llanidloes
Caersws’ unbeaten run came to an end thanks to two first half goals and a red card. Paul Grant was sent off after the first goal of the afternoon which came via his own goal. This result lifts Llanidoes up to second place, whilst Caersws stay top by six points.
Llanfair and Welshpool took advantage of their games this weekend to record three points and gain on the top four in the league
Llanfair 3-0 Churchstoke
A second half Alun Hughes’ brace and another from John Astley gave Llanfair a positive result after their recent two league defeats. This still leave Churchstoke that elusive first win of the season.
It didn’t help that Churchstoke’s management had eight first team players unavailable leaving reserve team striker Jake Baker to don the gloves.
Tywyn Byncrug 1-9 Welshpool
The form guide wasn’t upset with this fixture with Welshpool coming out on top in spectacular style.
Five goals from Will Thomas, two from Neil Pryce , and goals each from Josh Morgan and Ricky Litchfield gave the away team the win. To put this into some perspective Thomas’ five goals equals Byncrug’s goals scored in their last five games. They will be hoping for more success in front of goal in the next few games.
