Ruthin Town have taken to social media to deny reports that striker Llyr Morris is departing the club, and insists the striker will remain with the club.
Morris has been in scintillating form to start the season, and has scored nine league goals already in the 2018-19 campaign, just one behind top scorer Mark Cadwallader.
Morris had an impressive season last term and any success the club may have had in this season was pinned on the striker to lead the club into the new season.
The striker has stepped up, however the club have struggled for consistency this season, securing just four wins in the opening 11 games. But, thanks to the ruthlessness of Morris in front of goal, the club have the seventh best strikeforce in the league, with 17 goals netted already.
But, their success in front of goal has led to rumours circulating that Morris could leave the club in the near future. But, the club have publicly declared that the striker is not going anywhere, and that Morris wants to stay at the club.
“Contrary to recent media reports RTFC can confirm Llyr Morris will not be moving away from the club to Bangor City. Due to the nature of the approach for our player the club are currently taking advice as to any further steps that may need to be taken,” said the club statement.
Morris will be looking ahead to future games and will be hoping Ruthin can end their winless run this weekend.
