Llanelli Town have signed Barry Town United midfielder Michael George on a temporary loan until January.
First team opportunities have been limited for George, his last appearance was a brief cameo in Barry’s defeat to Cambrian & Clydach Vale in the Nathaniel MG Cup.
George will be eligible to make his debut for Andy Hill’s men tomorrow when they take on the Connah’s Quay Nomads.
On signing Michael George, manager Andy Hill said: “Talented lad who will fit right in with how we play- looking forward to working with him.”
In June, George penned a deal which saw him train with the first team. He made his Premier League debut at Barry’s memorable victory over Bangor City last season. George then was handed his first Welsh Premier League start against Llandudno in April.
Gavin Chesterfield said in June: When he stepped in he listened, put in good performances and showed that with hard work and determination he has the potential to do well at the club. I’m looking forward to seeing how he develops further this season.”
He made his debut for Gavin Chesterfield’s side, when they were promoted against Haverfordwest County in 2016/2017.
The midfielder who plays predominantly in a central attacking role was a main player in Barry’s Developmental team. He joined from Cambrian & Clydach Vale’s academy.
George currently plays university football for the University of South Wales, where he is currently top goal scorer. He was on the scoresheet in USW’s 1-1 draw with Bath this Wednesday.

We should start a book on how many matches he’ll play before he sees a red card 😉
