Andy Hill’s side were thrashed 7-1 against Newtown on the weekend and they must ensure they take maximum points in their next clash, against Cefn Druids.
The Reds have picked up just two wins all season and have conceded a whopping 48 goals in 14 games, meaning they currently sit bottom of the JD Welsh Premier League table.
It must be noted, their discipline hasn’t helped their cause at all this season, but they have improved over the course of the last two weeks but conceded six against leaders Connah’s Quay Nomads and seven against Newtown.
Shipping goals is the problem for Hill’s side. For large parts of this season, they have performed well but they haven’t got the results to show for it thus far.
They are definitely capable of turning their season around but they must pick up points, and quicky, starting with a win over the Druids at Stebonheath Park this weekend.
Some of the players they have could definitely help achieve this, too. James Loveridge and Jordan Follows are two dangerous players and if they can pick up form over the course of the next few weeks, it could certainly help their cause.
There are no easy games in this league and the Reds find themselves in a relegation battle. But they must relish every game and challenge anybody they come up against.
They have an excellent manager in Hill, who helped guide them to promotion to the Welsh top-flight, but if they want to stay up, they need to beat the teams around them and that’s what makes Saturday’s game against Huw Griffiths’ Druids side so big.
