Fifth tier Ynysddu Welfare host Welsh Premier League in Round Three of the JD Welsh Cup at Pontllanfraith Leisure Centre this afternoon.

The Caerphilly based side are the first Gwent County League team to reach this stage of the competition. Ben Murphy’s side have already beaten higher league opposition in Croesyceiliog, Monmouth Town and Taffs Well to reach this stage of the Cup.

They will be coming up against a side that was playing European football earlier this year. However, the Cefn Druids have been unable to replicate their form of last season and currently sit in the bottom six of the JD Welsh Premier League.

121.17 miles and Four tiers of football separate these two teams, as the North Wales based side make the long three hour journey to Ynysddu.
