Caernarfon Town sign Wrexham midfielder Leo Smith on-loan for rest of the season

Welsh Premier League side Caernarfon Town have signed youthful Wrexham midfield Leo Smith on-loan until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old will remain with the Canaries until the end of the 2018/2019 season, including the Europa League play-offs.

Smith had spent the first half of the season on loan with bottom side Llandudno but has now joined Caernarfon for the final ten games of the Welsh Premier League season.

Speaking to WrexhamAFC.co.uk, Smith said: “I’m really looking forward to playing more Welsh Premier League games

“Caernarfon took a huge crowd to Bangor in the cup and I’m really looking forward to getting involved.”

Cofi’s boss Sean Eardley spoke to CaernarfonTownFC.co.uk to express his delight on securing the loan signing of Smith.

“I’m thrilled to add Leo Smith to the squad for the second phase.

“I was impressed with him over the 2 games when we played Llandudno and then he returned to Wrexham after the game New Years Day.

After enquiring with the relevant parties Wrexham were more than happy for Leo to go out on loan again and get some games and we’re happy he’s joined us, as a number of Welsh and English sides were after his services.

“I’d like to thank Graham Barrow, Carl Darlington and the staff at Wrexham FC for allowing the move and would personally like to welcome Leo to the Oval.”
