A tier three side is guaranteed to be playing in the final of the Welsh Football League Cup after the draw was done this evening.
Cup holders Trefelin Boys & Girls Club will play last season’s JD Welsh Cup Quarter-Finalists Penydarren Boys & Girls Club in the all tier-four tie of the semi-final stage.
Unbeaten Penybont will host lowest ranked side Ynysygerwn in the other semi-final tie.
Penybont were the last semi-final entry, having beaten Port Talbot Town at Victoria Road in a six-goal thriller on Saturday.
Trefelin comfortably beat Undy Athletic last week, whilst Penydarren Boys & Girls Club beat Cardiff side STM Sports. Ynysygerwn shocked Penybont’s title rivals Haverfordwest County to reach this stage of the competition.
Trefelin are the reigning champions, having beaten Welsh Premier League outfit Llanelli Town last season.
Trefelin currently holds an eight-point gap at the top of Division Three. They’re also eighteen points ahead of the Valleys side, however, Penydarren have played nine games less.
Ynysygerwn are currently eighth in Division Three and are on an eight-game unbeaten run in Division Three. They meet Penybont who lead Division One by five points.
Both ties will take place at a neutral venue on either the 23rd or 24th April, with the Welsh League still to decide where they will be played.
