Taffs Well’s Rhiw’r Ddar to host Welsh Football League Cup semi-finals

Taffs Well will host both Welsh Football League Cup semi-finals at their Rhiw’r Ddar home it has been announced.

Cup holders Trefelin BGC will defend their trophy against Penydarren BGC in the first tie, which is scheduled for the 23rd April.

Division Three side Ynysygerwn will play unbeaten Penybont on the 24th of April.

Penybont are the only non-fourth tier side in the semi-final, the rest have all reached the penultimate round.

Taffs Well tweeted: ‘We are looking forward to hosting @Penybont_FC and Ynysygerwn. It should be a cracking match.

“We are also looking forward to hosting Penydarren and Trefelin in the other semifinal. Another cracking match.”

Ynysygerwn reached the semi-final by beating Penybont’s promotion rivals Haverfordwest County. Trefelin Boys & Girls Club saw off the challenge of Undy Athletic to book a second consecutive semi-final. Penydarren Boys & Girls Club are in the semis having had a 20-year exile from the Welsh League.
