Caledonian Stadium to host Connah’s Quay Nomads’ Irn-Bru Cup final

Inverness Caledonian Thistle’s Caledonian Stadium will host the 2018/2019 Irn-Bru Cup final between the Connah’s Quay Nomads and Ross County.

The final will take place on Saturday 23rd March at 16:30, the same week as Wales C take on England C at Salford City in an International Challenge Match.

Caledonian Thistle’s stadium is just 14 miles away from Ross County’s Global Energy Stadium.

The final is a day before Wales begin their UEFA European Championship qualifying campaign against Slovakia at the Cardiff City Stadium. It will be broadcast by BBC Alba, BT Sport and S4C.

Connah’s Quay reached the final by beating fourth-tier Edinburgh City on penalties. The Nomads’ final opponents Ross County beat East Fife 2-1 to book their place in the final.

The Stages reached the final for the fifth time in their history. They won the competition in 2006 and 2011.

It is the first time a non-Scottish club have reached the final since the competition’s revamp in 2016, as Andy Morrison’s men aim to stop co-managers Stuart Kettlewell and Steven Ferguson from winning the competition.
