Newtown’s Kieran Mills-Evans earns late call-up to Wales C

Newtown defender Kieron Mills-Evans has been called up to the Wales C squad for the fixture against England on Tuesday.

The Newtown defender has been an integral part of Chris Hughes’ squad this year, as they reached the top six of the JD Welsh Premier League at the end of Phase One.

Mills-Evans was not included in the original Wales C squad, as Emlyn Lewis, Joel Edwards and Nathan Peate were included over the Newtown defender.

Mills-Evans was called up to the squad last year.

Wales travel to Salford this week to take on Paul Fairclough’s men tomorrow evening, in a repeat of the previous Wales C fixture played at Jenner Park last year.

England ran out 3-2 winners in South Wales, but Mark Jones and Owain Tudur-Jones have picked a fresh set of players to take on their opponents this week.

The Newtown defender has helped the Mid-Wales outfit to fourth in the top division with the club pushing for a European spot.

England C host Wales C at Salford City’s Peninsula Stadium tomorrow evening (19:45 ko).
