STM new recruit Tom Burridge says club all steering in same direction
STM Sports AFC’s Tom Burridge has said that they will “all want the same thing” after making his home debut in Saturday’s 4-2 win over Caerau Ely.
Burridge, who previously played for Cardiff City Under 23s and Taffs Well has only been with STM for a couple of weeks after a spell out of the game started last weeks 6-1 away win over Aberdare Town.
The 22-year-old has enjoyed his time so far and feels that the Llanrumney side have enough to get promotion.
“We all want the same thing so we are all going to push for it together. Hopefully, now, we push on and get promotion into league one next season.”
Having been persuaded by STM midfielder Joe Evans to return to Welsh domestic football, the midfielder has now persuaded both Marcus Jones and Tom Burridge to join the club.
Conteh and Bateman both scored twice against Craig Sampson’s men and Burridge heaped praise onto STM’s goalscoring heroes.
“The standard in division two is still a good standard, a lot of good players in here like Lamin and Calum.
“The front lads they did unbelievably, we can rely on them sometimes even when we are not doing our job at the back.”
“It was a big game coming into it, but I think the boys first half we were a bit sloppy, we just played the occasion.”
“Second half, then we came into it took control of it I think and then it paid off with our goals.”
