Kayne McLaggon commits future to Barry
Barry Town United’s Kayne McLaggon has committed his future to the club by committing to a new long term deal.
McLaggon has been at the club since moving from Merthyr Town in 2017. He has led the line for the club since their return to the Welsh Premier League, with his goals helping them qualify for European football.
In total, he has scored 30 goals in 69 appearances for the Dragons, finishing as their top scorer two seasons in a row.
Speaking to BarryTownFC.co.uk, manager Gavin Chesterfield commented on McLaggon’s deal: “Kayne has been a key part of our team on and off the field having bought into a long term vision on joining the club.
“He has matured and developed as a player very well with us and has brought much to the JD Welsh Premier League. I’m delighted to be working with Kayne for another two seasons.”
His goals this season saw him earn a second call-up to the Wales C squad. He missed out due to injury the first time but scored in Wales’ 2-2 draw with England in March at Salford City’s Peninsula Stadium.
