Matthew Jones appointed Llandudno boss after Taylor-Fletcher’s swift exit

Llandudno have this evening appointed former Denbigh Town manager Matthew Jones as their new boss.

He takes over from Gary Taylor-Fletcher who had to leave his post just two days after being named Seasiders boss.

Jones has coaching experience in the Welsh Premier League, having been on the coaching staff at Rhyl.

Speaking to LlandudnoFC.co.uk, Jones said: “I am delighted to have been appointed the manager of this fantastic football club.

“Having met with the board, I know that this is a great fit and I am really looking forward to getting started.

“The hard work begins now and I will spend the next few days speaking to the existing squad and building towards the start of the season.”

Jones was manager of Denbigh but resigned after the club were relegated from the Huw’s Gray Alliance.

He was previously manager of Rhyl alongside Mark Connolly, who according to the North Wales Pioneer, may join Jones’ coaching staff at Maesdu Park.

Taylor-Fletcher’s reason for leaving was due to working in a full-time advisory with CSM, which he began last month.

“Due to unforeseen circumstance, I have today had to withdraw my acceptance of the Llandudno managers role.

“I would like to go on record that this is in no way due to anything with Llandudno Football club, it is an oversight that could affect myself, Llandudno and Creation Sports Management.”

“The hard work begins now and I will spend the next few days speaking to the existing squad and building towards the start of the season.”
