Cefn Druids’ utility man Alec Mudimu has been named in Zimbabwe’s provisional African Cup of Nations squad.

Sunday Chidzambwa has named what is a working squad before he trims it for the competition.

Leicester City’s Admiral Muskwe and Forest’s Tendai Darikwa  are the other two British based players.

Mudimu has made 26 appearances for the Ancients this season, having helped keep the Cefn Druids up in his second season.

His performances have seen him feature regularly for the Zimbabwe national team, helping them to their qualification to this summers tournament in March.

The month-long tournament runs from the 21st June to July and is the first to take place in the summer, following an expansion to 24 teams.

Their opening game is on the 21st June when they take on Egypt. Mudimu could take on Liverpool star Mohamed Salah.

Zimbabwe will also take on Uganda and DR Congo.
