Penydarren win Welsh Football League Cup
Penydarren have claimed a League and Cup double after beating Ynysygerwn in the Welsh Football League Cup final.
The Merthyr Tydfil side won the Cup for the first time in their history, just a year after playing in the Welsh League.
They add the Welsh Football League Cup to their collection of trophies this season after winning the Division Three title last Saturday.
They follow in the footsteps of Llanelli Town, who in 2016/2017, won the League Cup, alongside the Division Two trophy.
A sizeable crowd at Port Talbot Town’s Victoria Road watched Penydarren win the Cup. Sam Gamble scored in the first half before Chris Owens and Joshua Brogden scored to secure the victory.
