Rhyl have strengthened their squad for the upcoming season with the additions of Asa Hamilton and Steve Thomas.
The Lilywhites have showed no time in waiting in securing two players who are experienced in the division.
Both Asa Hamilton and Steve Thomas are Rhyl’s first two new signings, but more players are expected to commit to the club in the coming week.
Hamilton, who was joint top goalscorer for Airbus UK Broughton last season, helped the Wingmakers to the title. In total, he scored 13 goals in 25 appearances as he helped Stephen O’Shaughnessy’s side to Cymru Alliance success.
Eddie Maurice-Jones said to RhylFC.co.uk: “I am delighted to have signed Asa. He has been a proven forward in the Huws Gray Alliance for a number of years. He played a vital part for last year’s league winners Airbus and he is a strong, dominant player with a presence to worry any defence
“Asa has a big personality that will play a big part in building a togetherness atmosphere within the team. I’m confident he’ll be a big success for Rhyl.”
Also joining Rhyl is Llandudno defender Steve Thomas. Thomas played in the Welsh Premier League last season, suffering relegation with the Seasiders. The left-back joined from Holywell Town, where he was voted Player of the Season in 2017
Maurice-Jones commented on Thomas additional to RhylFC.co.uk, saying: “He is a player I’ve admired for a long time. Steve is technically gifted and comfortable on the ball and is an honest, hardworking player and will do everything in his power to succeed.”
“Steve is a great addition who adds quality and a winning mentality. I’m sure he’ll be a fan favourite in no time.”
