Jess Fishlock wins UEFA Women’s Champions League with Olympique Lyonnais

Wales midfielder Jess Fishlock has won the UEFA Women’s Champions League with Olympique Lyonnais.

The 32-year-old played 72 minutes as Lyon beat Barcelona in Budapest. Norweigan Ballon d’Or Feminin winner Ada Hegerberg scored a hat-trick as Lyon cruised to victory.

Lyonnais have now won their fourth Champions League title in a row. She was replaced by Saki Kumagai.

Wales’ most capped player of all time played in midfield alongside Amandine Henry and Dzsenifer Marozsán.

Fishlock joins Joey Jones, Ian Rush, Ryan Giggs and Gareth Bale in winning European silverware.

Wales manager Jayne Ludlow won the competition in 2007.
