Anthony Miley and Steven Tames depart Bala Town
Bala Town have lost two key players in Anthony Miley and Steven Tames to the English non-league.
Miley has joined Marine whilst top goalscorer Tames has joined Northern Premier League side Ashton United.
The pair leave Maes Tegid after the Lakesiders failed to qualify for the UEFA Europa League. It was the first time in four years that the club haven’t qualified for a European competition.
Tames was absent for the play-off final in their play-off final defeat to Cardiff Metropolitan due to an injury.
Forward Steven Tames scored 19 goals in 28 appearances, with 17 coming in the Welsh Premier League, which ranked him third in the goalscorer charts.
26-year-old Miley spent only a season with Bala, having joined the club from Bangor City, where he spent five years.
Marine’s manager Neil Young commented on the addition of Miley: “Anthony was a player that was identified early in our recruitment process as one we would really like to bring to the club.
“He has lots of non league experience and has also played in European competition over the last few years.
“He is a leader, strong and is also comfortable in possession when required and fits the type of player that we require in this area of the pitch.”
