Monmouth Town have appointed Hereford goalkeeping coach Scott Russell as their new first team manager.

Saunders will be assisted by Dan Chance and Steve Saunders, who were at Vanarama National League side, Hereford. Saunders will work as assistant manager, whilst Chance is Russell’s first team coach.

The newly-appointed Kingfishers boss tweeted: “Looking forward to being a Kingfisher and to develop not only the first team but the club from youth level upwards.

“Great community club. We had other offers but this was the club that we believe has the most promise going forwards. Exciting times ahead. Now the work starts.”
