Connah’s Quay to play Kilmarnock in UEFA Europa League

Connah’s Quay will meet with Scottish side Kilmarnock in the UEFA Europa League.

The Round One Qualifying draw took place in Nyon and the Nomads were drawn against British opposition.

Barry Town United and Cardiff Met were also involved, with Cork City and FK Haugesund were drawn as potential opponents.

The Nomads will have home advantage at the 11th July with a venue yet to be announced, before travelling to Kilmarnock’s Rugby Park, a week later on the 18th July.

Connah’s Quay already have experience in playing against Scottish opposition, having been involved in the Irn-Bru Cup for the last two seasons. Manager Andy Morrison is also from there, having been born in Inverness.

Elsewhere, should Gavin Chesterfield’s side win in the all-British clash with Cliftonville, then they will play Norwegian side FK Haugesund. They will have home advantage first at Leckwith Stadium, before potentially then travelling out to Norway.

Should Cardiff Metropolitan navigate past the tricky outfit of Progrès Niederkorn, then they will play Cork City in Round One of UEFA Europa League qualifying.

They will be away first, should they progress, on the 11th July, before potentially hosting them a week later on the 18th July.
