Wattsville appoint Matt Prosser as player-manager

Forward Matt Prosser has taken the managerial reigns of Wattsville.

He takes over from Liam Davies, who stood down from the role after five years in charge. Davies stands down due to family commitments.

Prosser will play in a player-manager role at the Gwent County Premier Division side.

Wattsville finished second from bottom last season, but were spared relegation.

Prossers achievement with Trethomas Bluebirds last season saw him win the clubs Managers Player of the Year and he was also ranked the Top Goalscorer.

He links up with relatives Luke and Steve Prosser.

Prossers’ previous playing experiences were at Bath City, Clevedon, Cwmbran Town, Newport County and Ynysddu Crusaders.

Prossers’ first signing as manager is former Welsh Premier League defender Kevin Davies.

Davies previously played for Cirencester Town, Clevedon Town, Swansea City, Swindon Town and Weston-Super-Mare.
