AFC Wimbledon sign Cardiff Met striker Adam Roscrow
AFC Wimbledon have signed Cardiff Metropolitan forward Adam Roscrow.
The 24-year-old has penned a two-year professional deal with the Wombles.
Roscrow will link up with the English Football League One side for pre-season, missing Met’s European qualifiers.
He leaves Cardiff Met, having scored 34 goals in 79 top flight games of Welsh football.
Wimbledon boss Wally Downes said: “I’ve got a friend of mine who lives in Wales, and he flagged Adam up to me in February. Then it was a case of monitoring him.
“I was hoping to see him in the Europa League, but he decided that he didn’t want to play in that.
“The option was for him to play in that and then come to us, but he decided he didn’t want to risk it. He is a bright kid who is determined to be a footballer and I’m sure he will be successful.”
Roscrow netted twice against Cambrian in the League Cup to help Met to their maiden Nathaniel MG Cup trophy.
In March, he scored the second equalising goal for the Met in Wales C’s 2-2 draw with England.
He joins the likes of Christian Doidge, Jason Oswell and Tom Bradshaw, who had all previously played in the Welsh Premier League before finding a career in the professional game.
