The Welsh Football League has today confirmed the structure that will be in place for 2019/20 season, following the re-branding of Division One – now the FAW Championship South.

The re-branding sees the league formerly known as Division Two re-named to Division One, following the re-branding of the old Division One.

The announcement confirms that Goytre, Port Talbot Town and Ton Pentre will compete in the new Division One, following their relegation from the old first division.

The Steelmen finished outside of the relegation zone, but were denied a licence to compete in the FAW Championship.

Penydarren and Trefelin will take their place in the top flight after winning promotion from the now-defunct Division Three last season.

It is now confirmed that Caerau and Ely Rangers will drop out of the Welsh Football League, having been relegated from Division Three last term.

They will be replaced by Abertillery Bluebirds and Ynyshir Albions, who gained promotion from the Gwent County League and South Wales Alliance League respectively.

It is expected that the Welsh Football League Cup will continue, with 32 teams battling it out to claim the trophy that was won by Penydarren in the 2018/19 season.
