Domestic football in Wales set for rebrand
Domestic football in Wales is set for a rebrand, it has been announced.
The Football Association of Wales today said that they were working on a number of projects in preparation for the upcoming season.
Last week, the fixtures for the JD Welsh Premier League and tier two leagues were announced.
The three divisions will be run by the governing body for the first time after structural changes to the Welsh pyramid system.
The Welsh Premier League will have a new name, which will be revealed next month. It was formerly known as the League of Wales for a decade, but in 2002 it was renamed to the Welsh Premier League, due to sponsorship reasons.
JD Sports have been sponsors of the League since 2017 after taking over from Dafabet. They have one year remaining on their current deal with the League.
All three divisions will have a logo that works across them. At the moment, a working title name of the FAW Championship for the North and South, however, the finalised name will be revealed next month. Alongside the naming, the logo and the sponsors will be revealed too.
There will be a central hub website that will include the Tier One (JD Welsh Premier League) and Tier Two (FAW Championship North & South) Leagues. Social media channels will be altered and created to reflect the changes.
