TNS midfielder Tom Holland moves to Waterford

Tom Holland has moved to League of Ireland club Wateford, following his departure from The New Saints.

The former Manchester City scholar joins Waterford, who are currently nine points off the drop zone.

Holland left Park Hall after two seasons with the Welsh Premier League champions after rejecting their contract offer in the summer.

Speaking to WaterfordFC.ie, Holland explained why he made the move: “I was at TNS but decided to move on and I wanted something different.

“The standard in the Irish league is higher but I’ve played European football with TNS before too so I’m looking forward to pushing myself here now.

TNS boss Scott Ruscoe was keen to tie down Holland.

Ruscoe, who was speaking to the Border Counties Advertiser after TNS’ Welsh Cup win in May said:

“I don’t know if Tom is going to one of those 20/21. He’s still up for discussion on the terms of his contract.

“But I hope so because Tom has been magnificent for us this season – he’s had two brilliant seasons for us and I would like him to stay and be part of this football club.”

His performances last season saw him nominated for the Welsh Premier League Young Player of the season.

During his two years at Park Hall, Tom Holland won two Welsh Premier League titles and a Nathaniel MG Cup.
