Cardiff City to face three Welsh domestic sides in pre-season

Cardiff City’s Under-23s are to play three sides from the Welsh pyramid this pre-season.

After seeing off FAW Championship South side Taffs Well on Friday evening, the young Bluebirds will continue to take on more clubs from Wales.

Haverfordwest County, Penybont and Trefelin BGC will all take on Cardiff City.

The first Welsh fixture is when they travel to Ynys Park on Friday July 26th (18:30). The Bluebirds are the opponents of Trefelin, who will be opening their new stand.

Four days later, they’ll travel to West Wales to face FAW Championship South contenders Haverfordwest County.

Haverfordwest County are the former club of Danny Williams, who moved to the South Wales capital in January for an undisclosed fee.

The Bluebirds will be facing a Penybont (6th August) side which will be completing their pre-season perorations before they begin their maiden Welsh Premier League season.

Cardiff City’s Under-23s side are managed by former Llanelli Town boss Andy Legg and former Cambrian BGC manager Jarred Harvey.

Matthew Hall, formerly of Bangor City and Ryan Pryce, a former player of the Welsh Premier League champions The New Saints are on the books of the EFL Championship side and are going into their second season.

Away from Cardiff City, Swansea City’s Under-23s will take on Welsh Premier League side Barry Town United at Jenner Park on Friday the 2nd August.

Losing play-off finalists Newport County will take on Undy Athletic, Michael Flynn’s former club in their first pre-season test, that takes place on the 16th July.
